Beaches, Bays & Rockpools

Discover wide sandy beaches and hidden bays nearby:

  • North Landing (1.2 miles away) - a picturesque cove, perfect for paddling and picnics.

  • Danes Dyke (1.6 miles away) - woodland meets the shore in this peaceful, sheltered spot.

  • South Landing (0.9 miles away) - ideal for exploring rockpools or simply watching the tide roll in.

  • Thornwick Bay (1.3 miles away) - a scenic cove but access is via a steep path, so sturdy shoes are recommended.

  • Bridligton Bay (3 miles away) - stretching from Sewerby to Fraisthorpe, perfect for building sandcastles!

  • Filey Bay (9 miles away) - this 5 mile beach runs from the Brigg at the northern end to the cliffs at Reighton. The southern end is quiet and a favourite place for families and dog walkers alike.

History & Heritage

Step back in time at Flamborough Lighthouse, or visit Scarborough Castle, perched dramatically above the sea. A short drive takes you to Bridlington Old Town, a quiet, charming area full of fascinating architecture and heritage. To the north is the traditional coastal town of Filey, with it’s promenade, coble landing and charming seaside character.

Coastal Walks & Dramatic Cliffs

With Flamborough Head just moments away, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy some of the most spectacular coastal walks in the UK. Explore rugged chalk cliffs, seabird colonies and windswept headlands with far-reaching views.  Walk the Headland Way which is part of the King Charles III England Coast Path. The Flamborough to Bempton route is especially breathtaking - keep your eyes peeled for puffins in spring and summer!

Wildlife & Nature

This stretch of coastline is rich in wildlife. Take a boat trip from North Landing to spot the seals or visit RSPB Bempton Cliffs to see thousands of nesting seabirds, including puffins and gannets. Close by are Danes Dyke and South Landing nature reserves for sightings of hares, deer, and butterflies.

Burton Agnes Hall & Gardens - An Elizabethan/Jacobean gem with award-winning walled gardens, featuring a maze, “jungle garden”, and rich horticultural variety. Striking architecture complements the gardens.

Sledmere House - A Grade I Georgian country house brimming with fine furniture, artworks, and set in a Capability Brown-designed park. Its architecture and décor are steeped in refined elegance.
